You have gained a week of leisure you would not otherwise have enjoyed!

Who benefits from a Personal Chef?
Busy professionals, families on the go, singles who don’t want to cook for one, New parents, patients returning from hospital, seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals. Essentially everyone does!

What if I have special dietary needs like allergies?
I will ensure that all your dietary needs are taken care of. During our initial meeting we will discuss all your dietary requirements. Should you be concerned with allergies, restrictions, intolerances, or sensitivities, I will be happy to provide you with a complete list of all the ingredients I use. I am very well aware of how allergic reactions impacts ones life, as I also have serious food allergies.

Who selects the menu?
Following a personal interview, I’ll have a good idea of your food preferences and will design a menu for you for each cook date and submit it to you for your approval.

Do you make ingredient substitutions?
Of course! Our Personal Chef Service menu is made to order. My service is all about you and your tastes. You get only what you like.

Are you a caterer?
No. A caterer specializes in planning for large functions. The food is usually prepared in a commercial kitchen then delivered to the event. As a personal chef, I provide a more personal service on a regular bases by preparing your meals in your own home.

Why do you prepare the food in my kitchen?
The law requires Personal Chefs to use their client’s kitchens unless the chef has access to a licensed commercial kitchen. But don’t worry, I bring everything I need including my own pots, pans, and utensils and all the ingredients necessary to prepare your meals. Your kitchen is left clean and the only evidence of my presence is the wonderful aromas left behind.

How long will you be in my kitchen?
Each client has specific needs, therefore it is impossible to say exactly how long the cook date will be. However a general guideline is somewhere between 4–7 hours depending on the complexity of the menu.

Do I have to be at home?
No. Actually, most clients prefer to be at work during the cooking process, which actually benefits both parties. This allows the chef to operate safely and without distractions and remain focused on creating the meals you requested .

Are you insured?
Yes, I carry liability insurance.

Can you use my containers?
If you have containers that are suitable, I will use them. If additional containers are required, I will purchase them for you. The only cost to you will be the containers. The containers would then be yours to keep.

How do I pay for each cook date?
At the time our first cook date is arranged, I will ask for a grocery deposit. Any money left over after the first shopping trip will be left for you on the cook date. Grocery bills exceeding the deposit must be paid within the following week by mailing payment to me in a stamped addressed envelope which I will provide. The chef’s fee, container fee (if applicable), and grocery deposit for the next cook date should be left for me at the beginning of each cook date. A detailed invoice will be left for you.
